The General Authority of Meteorology has released its detailed weather forecast for Sunday, March 15, 2026, across the Arab Republic of Egypt. The forecast indicates variable weather conditions, including cold temperatures during night and early morning hours, followed by relatively warm conditions during the day. The authority has also issued warnings about impactful meteorological phenomena such as dense fog, rainfall, and disruptions to maritime navigation.

Port Said Weather Outlook for Today

Port Said Governorate, including the city of Port Fouad, is expected to experience cold weather during the early morning and late night hours today, Sunday. During daylight hours, the weather will shift to mild to warm. Temperatures recorded in the governorate show a minimum of 16 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 19 degrees Celsius. This comes amid a slight drop in temperatures compared to previous days, with moderate to warm conditions persisting around noon.

National Weather Overview

According to the General Authority of Meteorology's statement, the country will generally experience cold weather in the early morning, transitioning to mild to warm during the day across most areas, before becoming cold again at night. This fluctuation in temperatures necessitates caution from citizens, advising them to wear appropriate clothing to adapt to the changing conditions throughout the day.

Dense Fog Advisory

Meteorological experts have emphasized the importance of caution due to the formation of dense fog in the early morning hours, specifically from 4 AM to 9 AM. This fog is expected to cover a wide range of areas, extending from the northern parts of the country to Greater Cairo, Canal Cities, North Upper Egypt, and Central Sinai. The fog may be particularly dense on some main and secondary roads, significantly affecting horizontal visibility. Therefore, drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution, reduce speed, adhere to traffic regulations, and use headlights and taillights to ensure road safety.

Rainfall Projections and Wind Activity

Today also brings chances of rainfall in various parts of the Republic. Moderate rain, potentially heavy and thundery at times, is expected in areas along the North Coast and North Delta, occurring intermittently. Meanwhile, areas in the South Delta, Canal Cities, and the Gulf of Aqaba may experience light rain, with a roughly 30% chance of extending to parts of Greater Cairo and North Upper Egypt, also intermittently. These weather phenomena will be accompanied by active winds, with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour in areas along the North Coast, South Sinai, and Southern Egypt, which may contribute to a colder sensation.

Maritime Navigation Disturbance and Warnings for Seafarers

The General Authority of Meteorology has warned of disruptions to maritime navigation in some areas along the Mediterranean Sea coasts. Wind speeds are expected to reach between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour, with wave heights ranging from 2.5 to 4 meters. The Red Sea and the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba will also experience similar disturbances, with wind speeds between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour and wave heights reaching 2 to 3.5 meters. The authority urges all seafarers, fishermen, and beachgoers to exercise extreme caution and avoid non-essential maritime activities during this period to ensure their safety.

The General Authority of Meteorology stresses the importance of continuously monitoring weather bulletins for any updates to the weather conditions and emphasizes the need to take necessary precautionary measures to cope with the fluctuating weather.
