US singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of murdering Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenage girl who went missing last year. The 21-year-old TikTok star is being held without bail, with the case set to be presented to the District Attorney's office. This arrest follows a grand jury investigation into the apparent murder, which gained public attention after the 14-year-old's severely decomposed remains were discovered in the front boot of his Tesla in September. Court documents revealed Burke was identified as a "target" in the investigation.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez was reported missing by her family in April 2024, approximately 75 miles from where her body was found. The lack of immediate information surrounding her macabre death fueled significant online speculation, especially given the discovery of a distinctive "Shhh…" tattoo on her index finger, reportedly similar to one on the singer. Following the discovery, D4vd cancelled his world tour and faced professional repercussions, including being dropped from marketing campaigns. Authorities had previously raided his Hollywood Hills mansion, and the sealing of death records in November underscored the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation, which continues to unfold with this latest arrest.
