YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States are facing another price hike, with individual plans increasing by $2 and family plans by $4. This marks the latest adjustment for the ad-free streaming service, following a trend observed across major platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The individual Premium plan now costs $15.99 per month, up from $13.99, while the five-person Family plan sees a jump from $22.99 to $26.99. Even the Premium Lite option, which primarily removes ads, has risen by $1 to $8.99 monthly.
The new pricing is immediately effective for new sign-ups. Existing subscribers are currently being notified via email, with the changes set to reflect on their billing dates, specifically June 7, 2026, according to recent reports. YouTube justifies these increases by stating a commitment to "continue delivering great service and features" and to "support the creators and artists you watch." This move comes after a previous US price adjustment in 2023 and similar hikes for international users in late 2024, indicating a strategic effort to enhance revenue streams amidst a competitive streaming landscape.
