The Kremlin has announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will personally determine the precise timing for the anticipated truce to take effect in the special military operation zone during Victory Day celebrations. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, clarified that the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces would announce the exact hours when the ceasefire would begin and end.
Moscow Awaits Kyiv's Response
Peskov further stated that Moscow has not yet received any reaction from Kyiv regarding this initiative. These statements follow an earlier announcement by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, who informed former U.S. President Donald Trump during a phone call of Russia's readiness to declare a truce for Victory Day. Trump reportedly welcomed this proposal warmly, viewing the day as embodying the joint victory over Nazism in World War II.
