The Zagazig Criminal Court, located in Sharqia Governorate, has taken a significant step by referring the case of a man accused of murder to the Grand Mufti of Egypt. The victim was reportedly killed following a dispute between neighbors in the Belbeis police station district. The court has scheduled the pronouncement of the final verdict for the third day of the upcoming May session.

The prosecution had previously indicted the accused, identified as Atif R.F.M., a 36-year-old driver, and his father, Rashwan F.M.M. They are charged with premeditated murder of the victim, Mostafa A.M.A., aged 22, a resident of Mit Hamel village. The indictment details that the defendants deliberately planned the killing. The first defendant allegedly attacked the victim with a bladed weapon, inflicting fatal wounds, while the second defendant was present at the scene to provide support.

Investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The accused then used a knife to stab the victim multiple times, leading to his death. Security forces apprehended the accused individuals based on arrest warrants, and the prosecution subsequently referred them to the Zagazig Criminal Court, which issued the current decision.
