The Supreme Committee for State Land Reclamation and Dues, chaired by Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Military Advisor to the President, has reaffirmed its commitment to expedite cadastral survey work for "Nile River encroachment lands." This directive comes as part of intensive efforts to reclaim state rights and collect all outstanding dues, through effective coordination among several key government entities.

Government Coordination to Finalize Surveys and Collect Dues

The Supreme Committee emphasized the critical importance of joint coordination among the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Agricultural Reform Authority, and the Survey Authority to ensure the accuracy and speed of completing cadastral surveys for Nile River encroachment lands. This step aims to identify all state-owned lands that may have been subjected to encroachments or illegal exploitation over past years, paving the way for necessary legal action.

In this context, Lt. Gen. Osama Askar stressed the imperative of taking all legal measures to recover state rights, whether related to outstanding rental values from previous periods or benefits accrued from the exploitation of these lands. He asserted that the state would not tolerate any infringement on its rights, and clear directives have been issued to collect all outstanding dues without exception, thereby ensuring the preservation of public funds and the enforcement of law.

Decisive Directives for the New Urban Communities Authority

The Supreme Committee's work was not limited to Nile River encroachment lands but also extended to include decisive directives for the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). The committee chairman, Lt. Gen. Osama Askar, instructed NUCA to coordinate immediately with the National Platform for State Land Legalization to finalize all regularization requests received by the platform. This directive set a strict deadline of one month for completing this task, reflecting the state's seriousness in resolving pending regularization files.

In parallel with finalizing regularization requests, the committee tasked NUCA with a comprehensive inventory of all encroachments on the Authority's lands across all governorates. This process aims to determine the extent and types of encroachments, in preparation for taking the necessary legal and administrative measures to remove these encroachments and reclaim the usurped lands, ensuring their optimal utilization in planned development projects.

Strategic Importance of Land Reclamation Efforts

These actions are part of a comprehensive national strategy aimed at restoring the state's prestige and enforcing the rule of law over all its lands. The file of state land reclamation and dues recovery is considered a top priority, given its significant economic and social importance. Reclaiming these lands contributes to increasing state revenues, providing new lands for developmental and housing projects, and achieving justice and equality among citizens.

These stringent measures reflect the Egyptian government's commitment to combating all forms of encroachment on state property and its affirmation that no one is above the law. These efforts are expected to enhance transparency and efficiency in the management of state lands and achieve optimal utilization of natural resources, benefiting both the national economy and citizens alike.
