Egypt is witnessing a surge in public interest concerning the official holiday date for Sinai Liberation Day in 2026. This important national commemoration marks the full restoration of Egyptian sovereignty over the Sinai Peninsula. The Ministry of Labour has officially designated Saturday, April 25, 2026, as a paid public holiday for all workers in observance of this historic event.

The nation celebrates Sinai Liberation Day to honor the memory of the peninsula's return in 1982, following the withdrawal of the last Israeli forces and the raising of the Egyptian flag. This holiday is part of a comprehensive list of official days off for employees across ministries, government bodies, public institutions, and private sector companies. Throughout 2026, Egyptian workers are entitled to approximately 13 official holidays, including Sinai Liberation Day, Labour Day, Eid al-Adha, Hijri New Year, the June 30 and July 23 revolution days, Mawlid, and Armed Forces Day.
