In a proactive move to enhance institutional safety, Benha University has conducted comprehensive evacuation drills in key faculties such as Commerce, Physical Therapy, and Sports Science. The university is set to extend these vital exercises to faculties of Education, Agriculture, Computers and Information, and Applied Arts. Spearheaded by University President Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, these initiatives underscore a commitment to robust crisis and disaster preparedness, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
Dr. Ibrahim Rageh, Director of the University's Crisis and Disaster Management Department, highlighted that these drills are integral to the university's strategy of implementing precautionary measures and improving rapid response capabilities during emergencies. He emphasized the critical role of raising awareness among students and employees about appropriate conduct during crises like fires or earthquakes, aiming to preserve lives and minimize potential damages. Complementing the drills, the university organized awareness lectures involving occupational safety, security, and medical departments, alongside student unions, fostering a stronger culture of crisis management within the academic community.
