Ninth China (Indonesia) Export Brand Exhibition and Jakarta International Industry Expo 2025 Kicks Off in Indonesian Capital

Jakarta, Indonesia – June 4, 2024 – The Jakarta Exhibition Center buzzed with activity today as the Ninth China (Indonesia) Export Brand Exhibition and Jakarta International Industry Expo 2025, commonly referred to as the 'Indonesia Expo,' commenced. This pivotal event, spanning several days, serves as a crucial platform for fostering trade and industrial collaboration between China and Indonesia, underscoring the commitment of both nations to mutual economic growth through innovation and industrial integration.

The 'Indonesia Expo' arrives at a critical juncture as Indonesia embarks on a significant industrial transformation towards Industry 4.0. The exhibition is strategically designed to address these evolving demands by presenting cutting-edge products and technologies across key sectors. Co-located with the main expo are three specialized exhibitions: the Indonesia Industrial Equipment and Components Expo, the Indonesia Plastics, Printing, Packaging, and Food Processing Equipment Expo, and the Indonesia International Power & New Energy Expo. These concurrent events ensure comprehensive coverage of the industrial landscape, from raw materials to finished goods, with a particular emphasis on 15 high-potential product categories within the Indonesian market. These include renewable energy solutions, automotive and motorcycle parts, agricultural machinery, plastics machinery and molds, and packaging and printing machinery.

Spanning an impressive 40,000 square meters, the exhibition stands as the largest industry-themed expo independently organized by China within the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) region. It also holds the distinction of being Indonesia's largest exhibition dedicated to the entire industrial supply chain. The event boasts robust backing from Indonesian government bodies, including the Industry 4.0 Committee of the Ministry of Industry, and endorsement from 14 prominent Indonesian industrial and trade associations, such as the Indonesian Packaging Federation and the Indonesian Industrial Machinery Association. The expo has attracted over 1,000 exhibiting companies from 20 Chinese provinces, alongside participants from Indonesia, Japan, and other nations. Pre-registered buyers have surpassed 70,000, comprising professional procurement specialists from Indonesia and neighboring countries, signaling strong interest in the opportunities presented.

To further facilitate deep exchange and cooperation between the industrial sectors of China and Indonesia and to ensure efficient supply-demand matching, the organizing committee conducted a series of roadshows in the first half of 2025 across major Indonesian cities like Pontianak, Makassar, and Bandung. These events served to showcase high-quality Chinese enterprises and products to the Indonesian market, thereby enhancing the influence of 'Made in China' within the ASEAN region. Furthermore, strategic partnerships have been forged with key Indonesian industrial players, including the nation's largest industrial park, the Jababeka Industrial Estate, its largest state-owned steel conglomerate, Krakatau Steel, and Sany Heavy Industry Indonesia. These collaborations involve organizing site visits and joint forum activities, aimed at deepening industrial linkages and technological exchange.

In an effort to foster a more profound understanding of Chinese manufacturing capabilities and Indonesian market potential, the organizing committee invited Indonesian industry associations, such as the Indonesian Metal Processing and Casting Association, the Indonesian Logistics Association, and the Indonesian Packaging Development Federation, to visit industrial clusters in China. These visits provided Indonesian businesses with firsthand insights into China's manufacturing prowess, allowed them to articulate their procurement needs, and explore market potential, leading to the establishment of several preliminary cooperation intentions. This strategic blend of 'going out' to explore markets and 'inviting in' partners has effectively bridged the gap between Chinese and Indonesian industries, laying a solid foundation for productive negotiations during the expo.

This year's 'Indonesia Expo' has notably upgraded its 'smart' features. The self-developed 'AI Smart Exhibition' system, coupled with AI Glasses, is being utilized for the first time to provide AI-assisted behavior and customer profiling analysis. This technology offers real-time suggestions for foreign trade follow-ups, with an adoption rate among exhibitors already reaching 30%. This adoption highlights the growing trend of integrating digital solutions into trade fair experiences.

The 'Indonesia Expo' serves not only as an international platform for Chinese industrial enterprises to demonstrate their strengths and expand their markets but also as a vital bridge for deepening cooperation between China and Indonesia in areas such as industrial manufacturing, mechanical equipment, and smart manufacturing. The expo is organized by the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government, with the Wenzhou Bureau of Commerce and Meorient International Exhibition Co., Ltd. as the organizers. It is jointly organized by the Hangzhou Bureau of Commerce, Taizhou Bureau of Commerce, Jiaxing Bureau of Commerce, and Jinhua Bureau of Commerce, guided by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, and supported by the Department of Commerce of Jilin Province, and the Bureaus of Commerce of Foshan, Dongguan, and Huizhou.
