The US dollar recorded a fresh decline today, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, within the National Bank of Egypt's trading. It fell by approximately 10 piasters against the Egyptian pound. This downturn, it's plain to see, was not limited to the greenback alone; prices of several key Arab currencies also dropped against the EGP during midday transactions.

Details of Foreign and Arab Currency Declines

Data from the National Bank of Egypt indicated the dollar's purchase price settled at 49.57 EGP, while the selling price stood at 49.67 EGP. The Kuwaiti Dinar also experienced a decrease, with its purchase price reaching 156.40 EGP and its selling price at 161.34 EGP. Such figures underscore the dynamic nature of the local market.

Impact on Gulf Currencies

Gulf currencies were likewise affected by this downward trend. The Saudi Riyal's price declined to 13.17 EGP for purchase and 13.23 EGP for sale. Similarly, the UAE Dirham fell, recording 13.48 EGP for purchase and 13.52 EGP for sale. The Qatari Riyal registered 12.58 EGP for purchase and 13.63 EGP for sale, suggesting a broader market adjustment.
