Dubbed "usbliter8," this vulnerability potentially opens the door for security researchers and government contractors to develop new jailbreak techniques for older iPhones, including models like the XS, XR, and up to the iPhone 11, which were released in 2018 and 2019.

Boot ROM Vulnerability Explained

The identified flaw resides in the iPhone's Boot ROM, the initial piece of code executed upon device startup, making it the device's first line of defense. Exploiting "usbliter8" requires physical access to the target phone, enabling hackers to potentially bypass subsequent security checks.
