The Egyptian Ministry of Interior has clarified the circumstances surrounding the theft of a truck's contents in the Beheira Governorate, following the circulation of a video-supported post on social media platforms. The post detailed a complaint from the truck driver, who claimed his vehicle was robbed while he stopped to purchase food on April 20, and falsely alleged that police had informed him his car would be impounded if he filed a report.
Interior Ministry Investigation Reveals Truth
Upon investigation, security forces identified the truck shown in the video and its driver, a resident of Damanhour police station's jurisdiction. When questioned, the driver admitted that on April 20, while he was stopped on a road within the Wadi El Natrun police station's area to buy food, he returned to find his car window broken and a sum of money stolen. He further confessed that he had not filed a report and that his claim about the police impounding his car was false.

Perpetrator Apprehended, Part of Stolen Money Recovered
The investigations led to the identification and arrest of the individual responsible for the theft, an unemployed man residing in the Wadi El Natrun police station's jurisdiction. Confronted with the evidence, the suspect confessed to committing the crime as described and led authorities to a portion of the stolen money. He stated that he had spent the remaining amount on personal necessities. This swift action underscores the Interior Ministry's commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety.
