Ekhbary News Agency reports that the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has responded to Al Ahly Club's request to listen to the conversations between the field referee and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) officials during their match against Ceramica Cleopatra. The game, part of the first round of the Egyptian Premier League's final stage, ended in a 1-1 draw. Al Ahly players and administrative staff strongly protested the referee's decisions, particularly after a penalty appeal was denied.

During this meeting, club officials will be allowed to review the audio recordings of the VAR communications. However, the EFA's Referees Committee has clarified that the club is not entitled to receive a full copy of these audio recordings, stressing that only viewing and listening access will be provided.
This development follows financial penalties imposed by the Egyptian Clubs Association on both Al Ahly and Ceramica Cleopatra. Additionally, Al Ahly's goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shenawy, was suspended for four matches and fined, stemming from the post-match events and protests against the controversial refereeing decisions.
