Beirut's hospitals are facing an overwhelming surge in casualties after a series of intense Israeli airstrikes across the country. The American University of Beirut (AUB) Hospital reported receiving approximately 76 injured individuals within an hour, with six fatalities. Dr. Salah Zeineldine, the hospital's chief medical officer, described the situation as a "different ballgame altogether," noting the high number of critically injured patients, including many children and infants. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has reported a preliminary toll of 303 deaths and 1,150 injuries nationwide, with a significant portion being children, women, and the elderly. Blast injuries and falling debris are cited as the primary causes of death and trauma.
