Assiut, Egypt — Major General Mohamed Alwan, Governor of Assiut, visited the victims of a shooting incident in the city of Abnoub who are currently receiving treatment at the University Hospital for Traumatology. The visit aimed to check on their health conditions and ensure they were receiving complete medical care, accompanied by health officials from the governorate.

The Ministry of Interior reported that the incident resulted in the death of 8 people and injuries to 5 others, after an individual fired indiscriminately. Security forces identified and pursued the suspect, who was killed during an attempt to apprehend him. At the end of his visit, the governor offered condolences to the victims' families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
